Rosenberg Texas is a quiet outlying suburb of the largest city in the Lone Star state. It’s only 40 minutes from downtown Houston and is also home to the sprawling festivities of the Fort Bend County Fair. Prospective buyers will find an array of three- and four-bedroom homes, many of which have been built within the last few years.
Rosenberg is home to approximately 33,000 residents and even shares the same zip code as neighboring Richmond. Thanks to its small size and rural location, Rosenberg offers a quiet suburban life without the hassles of a big city. It houses over 8,000 resident units, most of which are small- or medium-sized single-family homes. The city center features some of the Rosenberg’s most eclectic houses and tree-lined streets. Most of these established properties were built between 1970 and 2000, with a handful dating back to 1940. While many large parcels can be found up near the Brazos River, most of Rosenberg population lies south of town towards the Southwest Freeway. Several small subdivisions are scattered throughout the south end of town, including Horse Shoe Bend and the popular Sunrise Meadow. Prospective buyers looking to stay closer to amenities may consider some of the new track developments popping up on the east side toward Richmond.
Rosenberg is home to a handful of service business and retail operations, as well as a United States Post Office and a small pharmaceutical company. The local Texas Department of Public Safety is a major employer, but a large percentage of residents still commute to locations closer to Houston. Additional jobs can also be found in one of six elementary schools, four middles schools and two high schools. The town is also home to three private educational institutions. Furthermore, Fort Bend County operates a two-acre community center south of the interstate. This complex hosts the annual county fair as well as year-round entertainment, meetings and elderly activities.
